Click back to the Societies Council home page or Guild Activities page to find out about Guild-run events. Below we list some ideas for Club Events.
Fresher WelcomesThese can be great to get the freshers involved in your club, but be careful when if comes to serving alcohol. You can separate the show into licensed and non-licensed areas. Theme NightsThese have been known to bring guaranteed success. Some that have been done before include Mexicana, Electric Blue and Spring Break, Back to School, Irish, James Bond and Rubix Cube. Film Nights This is often a great way to fundraise for your club. Book an empty lecture theatre, try any one of the cinemas around uni or use the big screen in the Tav to show your own movies. Wine and Cheese NightsPerhaps for the more classy clubs on campus, but for the not so classy, how about goon and coon. Quiz NightsAnother fundraising idea. There are plenty of Guild venues available for these- get some cool prizes donated, some wacky questions and maybe throw in a theme and start quizzing! Cocktail PartiesThink sophistication and elegance, glitz and glamour, James Bond and martinis (shaken, not stirred). The stylish outfits and glam drinks make even a uni booze function classy. Club Balls These cost more to put on but they are often worth every cent. Faculty Societies are good people to talk to for advice. Don’t forget to book your club a table at the Guild Ball in October - always a sensational night! Dance PartiesThese are growing in popularity every year. Night clubs usually do a good deal on venue and drink prices. Speak to us if you need some contacts. Trips AwayRotto, Lancelin, Margaret River...WA has some great places to get away with your committee and club members. If you’re really keen, interstate or overseas visits are always a possibility.
