When reminiscing on life as a university student, it is unlikely that receiving an education is one of the most significant memories. But at the end of the day, education is the major reason that people attend university. That is why is it absolutely crucial to provide all students with the same opportunities to receive the best education possible. The Education Council is a representative student body whose primary aim is to give students a platform to voice their concerns regarding their education. Its role is ensure that students all have access to academic services, receive fair and objective assessment and are fully informed about the processes by which their education is carried out. As the Guild enters a new phase with the introduction of Voluntary Student Unionism it is necessary for it to focus efforts on becoming more efficient, while maintaining and improving services in the face of funding cuts.
