When and where is the O-Day Festival? The O-Day Festival takes place on Friday 20 February at UWA's Crawley campus (35 Stirling Hwy, Crawley). What time does it all start? New students will attend the Commencement Ceremony at Somerville Auditorium at 10am, with all the stalls and action on James Oval starting up as soon as Commencement finishes (at 11am). The Oak Lawn concert opens at 2pm and runs til 6.30pm. Where can I find out about other O-Week activities? Check out the O-Week website for details on Kick Off Day, Fac Find Days and heaps more. How do I join a club or society? Just find their stall at the O-Day Festival and ask to sign up! Most clubs charge a membership fee of $5-10, and Gold Guild members get $2 off every affiliated club membership so don't forget to show your Gold Guild sticker when you sign up! How do I join the Guild? If you didn't sign up for the Guild during Enrolment, just head to the Guild Student Centre in Guild Village on O-Day to sign up and activate your Guild membership. There is no cost to join the Guild but if you would like to access a huge range of services and benefits you can elect to pay the Amenities and Services Fee and become a Gold Guild member. To find out more about the benefits of becoming a Guild member and the Amenities and Services Fee, click here. Do I have to be a UWA student to come along? Nope - the O-Day Festival (including the concert on Oak Lawn) is open to everyone, students and non-students alike. So feel free to bring your mates along! Entry to the concert is free for UWA students who are Gold Guild members and $20 for others. Will there be food at the O-Day Festival? Absolutely! If you're not full from all the free samples from stalls on James Oval, a range of food options (including vegetarian and halal) will be available at the Guild Cafe and Guild Refectory in Guild Village, as well as Hackett Cafe on the North end of campus. Remember to flash your Gold Guild sticker to get 10% off all food on campus. Who's playing at the concert? Check out the 2009 O-Day Festival concert lineup on the concert page.
