National Campus Film Fest

Ever wanted to make your own film? Well here's your chance!

You don't need any experience, just a video camera and some knowledge of how a computer works (or a generous friend with this knowledge). The only requirement is that the film should be under 8 minutes long. Other than that, it's all up to you - so get filming! And make sure you keep an eye on G-News for info about submitting your film to the Fest.

ABOUT THE FEST

The National Campus Film Fest wants you to make a film. Making a film is a fun thing to do and pretty much everyone should do it sometime in their life - so why not now? We're not that interested in super-polished, broadcast-quality stuff, we just want people to come up with an idea, grab a camera and get busy! We think that whatever you make is going to be great. That's why every single (legal*) Film Fest entry that we get will be screened at the National Campus Film Fest screening celebration at the Tav in October. Plus everyone who submits a film will receive a free voucher for a meal and a jug* at the Tav to enjoy while you watch the screening! You can make your film about anything you want; it can be funny, it can be sad, it can be crazy, it can be whatever you feel like doing. It doesn't matter if it's an animation or a documentary or some new type of filmmaking that you've invented yourself, we'll love anything you come up with! If you've never made a film before, then now is a good time to start. If you have made a film before, then feel free to cut loose, be bold and make something new!

HOW TO ENTER

Registration is a two-step process.

1. Register online. Registration is free. Once you've registered, you can start making your film!
2. When your film is finished, submit a DVD or Mini DV to the Guild Activities Officer and also upload your film to YouTube (if you know how) and email the link to activities@guild.uwa.edu.au.

NCFF SCREENING AT THE TAV

All Film Fest entries from UWA students will be shown at the Tav at the screening on Tuesday 24 May. Entry is free, so come on down and check out some great short films by budding student filmmakers!

GOT A QUESTION?

Give us a yell at activities@guild.uwa.edu.au.

*Conditions

1. Although we encourage everyone to participate and enter this competition, we can only allow you into the Tavern if you're 18+. We will still accept your film if you are under 18, you will still be eligible to win the prizes and and you will recieve a voucher for a free lunch at any of the Guild catering outlets.

2. There are some restrictions on the content allowed in entries. If your film is offensive, racist, unnecessarily violent, shows graphic nudity, has excessive explicit language or anything that would have an 'R' rating or above, it's unlikely that your film will be shown and you will not be eligible for any prizes. Make sure that you're concious of what rating you will be issued when putting your film together.
